This decision comes in response to high passenger volumes on the corridors linking Prayagraj, Hubballi, Kanpur Central, and the Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminal in Bengaluru.

Industry reports indicate that the extension is designed to prevent travel bottlenecks and ensure that workers, students, and tourists have reliable access to long-distance transit. By maintaining existing schedules and coach compositions, the railway administration aims to provide a seamless transition for passengers who rely on these specific weekly departures.

Extended Schedules for Hubballi and Prayagraj Corridors

The rail link between the cultural center of Prayagraj and the commercial hub of Hubballi will see a significant extension of its service window. This route is vital for passengers moving between northern administrative zones and southern transit points.

Train No. 04113, the Prayagraj–Hubballi Weekly Express Special, was originally slated to conclude its run on July 11. However, officials have extended its operations, with the service now running from July 18 through September 26.

In the opposite direction, the Hubballi–Prayagraj Weekly Express Special (Train No. 04114), which was previously scheduled to end on July 14, will now operate from July 21 until September 29.

According to flight and rail tracking data, these extensions allow for a predictable weekly cadence, removing the need for travelers to alter their booking patterns or seek alternative, more expensive transport methods during this period.

Bengaluru and Kanpur Central Connectivity Boost

A similar extension has been applied to the corridor connecting the industrial heart of Uttar Pradesh with the technology hubs of Karnataka. This route serves as a critical artery for a diverse demographic, including corporate professionals and academic migrants.

The Kanpur Central–Bengaluru Weekly Express Special (Train No. 04133), which had a previous end date of July 12, has been extended to run from July 19 to September 27.
